“I recently used this at Streets of Willow, I used the recommended phone mount, and veepeak obd. Everything synced up great. Track footage was awesome, even when I didn’t have the obd port in, it still shows speed and where you are on the track. Shows laps times while in session, and how your doing in different sectors of the track. Then click a lap time from a session and watch that lap with overlay! It worked great for me.”

The UI is well-designed, the app never crashes or freezes, and it delivers on all of its promises. Paired with a compatible OBD reader, it’s so good. I wish I had tried it sooner really. If you’re currently shopping around and comparing options, you should really just try this one first. Especially because you can try your first several sessions for free. Learn from my mistake: I wasted a bunch of money on Harry’s laptimer trying to get it to work and paying for upgrades etc and it was not useful at all and constantly crashed. “Like the title says, this app just works. I’ve been trying other track apps, specifically for autocross and I’ve had all sorts of issues with getting start stop triggers to work. Got a RaceBox mini and that didn’t help. Other apps have had issues with my VeePeak obd reader. Track Attack! straight up just worked. I don’t know how else to say it. Went to settings to connect my gps and obd reader. Set the start and stop finish lines at my autocross course and everything just worked! Not to mention you have to super cool dual cam feature. Timing is accurate with about a tenth and a half being the largest difference I saw (compared directly to a transponder in the same session). Usually the difference was within a few hundredths. “I have been using this App for about 6 months. Really simple to use and hugely helpful to recording and allowing me to assess and improve my track driving. Mount your phone on the windshield so that the track ahead is clearly visible using your camera and then hit start to record your session. It will give you lap times and your best lap like many other apps, but unlike these it will save a video and automatically push it to your photos. This allows you to review your lap and assess your line. Now this isn’t a professional set up that uses car data but it’s perfect for a novice trying to make sure they are following the optimal track line and maybe review their lap with a coach. Also great for showing off with video. The app is also great for recording a scenic drive. Important to note that apple carplay needs to be turned off for it to properly work with the latest iphone updates. Try it out. What great value!”

What platforms does Track Attack work on? iOS or Android?

Track Attack is currently available on the iOS App Store for iPhone and iPad. It also includes a companion Apple Watch app for real-time heart rate and energy/calorie data. Android support is on our long-term roadmap, but we don't have an estimated release date yet.

What cars are supported for OBD?

Track Attack supports most vehicles equipped with OBD-II. It can read parameters such as RPM, throttle position, vehicle speed, engine load, intake air temperature (IAT), manifold pressure (MAP), coolant temperature, and oil temperature. Support varies by vehicle: some older models may not expose all data channels. For older vehicles (early to mid-2000s), you can enable “Legacy” connection mode in the app’s OBD settings if “Default” mode does not connect reliably.

Does Track Attack support external cameras like GoPro, Insta360, or DJI?

Track Attack currently uses your iPhone’s built-in cameras including front, rear, or both simultaneously for instant recording with data overlays. The app is designed for quick, reliable capture without setup. Support for importing video from external cameras such as GoPro, Insta360, or DJI is planned for a future update.

How many tracks are included?

Track Attack includes 348 tracks worldwide, not counting multiple layout variations. Current coverage spans Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Qatar, Singapore, Spain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the United Kingdom (UK), and the United States (US).

You can easily add a new circuit, autocross, or hillclimb with a tap on the map. Name your course and share it with friends via AirDrop, email, or text. If your favorite track isn’t included, email us and we’ll add it in an upcoming update.

Does Track Attack work for road drives?

Yes. Track Attack is designed for both road and track use. It includes a dedicated road mode built for spirited drives and road trips. Think of it as an enthusiast-focused alternative to Google Maps or Apple Maps. Plan routes with unlimited waypoints, follow turn-by-turn navigation, and record video and data along the way. You can name routes, rename waypoints, tag stops such as parking, rest, food, or gas, and share routes with friends via AirDrop, email, or text.

You can also switch to track mode for lap timing on circuits, autocross, or hillclimbs using either built-in tracks or your own custom courses. In both road and track mode, you get the same high-quality video and data to document your lap times and road adventures.
